Blerb for Lauren7

This is a Blerb.  It is for my friend Lauren. It is a ceramic creature made of cone 6 white stoneware.  I used a mix of red and orange underglaze, black underglaze in the recessed areas, and a thin spray of transparent glaze over it.  It went through many bisque firings as i had to keep reapplying the underglaze in certain places to get it right. 

Blerbs are evolved from my Egguins.  I imagine they walk by slithering while picking up their legs and pulling/pushing themselves forward like some sort of insane thing from a claymation fever dream.  This is the first Blerb I've ever done that was both warmly colored and shiny.  Actually the shine is a big departure for me because previously i have shied away from using any glaze at all because it tends to fill in fine details.  But apparently you can sort of get around that with careful airbrushing.
